QuIP provides participants with validated tissue samples for testing. This enables the institutes to validate the quality of their analyses on a comparative basis. Participation is voluntary. QuIP reports test results anonymously with benchmark evaluations. After successful completion of a proficiency test, the participant receives a certificate.
In general, a proficiency test is a self-contained aptitude or performance test organized for a group of participants (pathology institutes). It is defined and described in accordance with the relevant standards (source: DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020 and 15189). Information and checklists for the standard norm can be obtained from the responsible accreditation body.
Register proficiency testThe Digital Readout Tests (DRTs) were established to train and assess the interpretation of histological stains. Participants are presented with a set number of scanned tissue samples (e.g., IHC or H&E stains) for interpretation, which must be digitally examined. These digital evaluation tests are intended to give pathologists the opportunity to assess their interpretation performance independently of the laboratory. At the same time, they receive rapid access to their results so they can respond promptly to any existing problems.
